This is FN's "Defense" load for 5.7. This is a 30gr Barnes Varmint Grenade. In the past this has been loaded by other smaller loaders at speeds of up to 2,300 fps from the pistol. While we meet penetration depths, reliability is way down.

Sounds like velocity, pressure curve, or feeding issues. Is the problem FTF, FTE, or inconsistent expansion? What firearm?
